SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION
Search Engine Optimization, or SEO, is the bill that pays the bills, helping your website rank highly in search engines like Google and Bing. The higher your ranking, the more visitors – and customers – reach your site.
Many business owners are used to the days where word of mouth was the way people found new products and services, but today most people just ask Google. With consistent and ongoing effort, your business can be the result they find.

Content is one of the most important pieces of the ranking puzzle, helping you drive conversions and establish topical relevance. How Do We Do SEO?
There are many SEO firms out there that try to convince their clients that Search Engine Optimization is magic. Not even close.
Search engines, like Google or Bing, determine which websites show up in the top search results through an algorithm. This means that at every step, bots are scanning the internet and deciding who gets ranked higher and who gets ranked lower.
In short, it’s data. Data can be processed and analyzed, and by doing so, you can forecast how a market’s search results may act, and you can determine what needs to be done to rank a particular site higher than others.
Google’s objective is simple: provide the most value to the reader for relevant queries or search terms. Their algorithm is always changing, always testing new methods and algorithm parameters.
This constant flux also means that effective SEO takes time and requires consistent, ongoing work and attention.
We like to say there are no secrets in SEO.
So, how do we do it?
We approach SEO like scientists, making data-driven decisions.
Google has over 200 ranking factors that currently affect a website’s position in the search results. There are three top factors, which serves as an excellent introduction.
The first and least important: website age.
There’s not much that can be done about your website’s age; whether you’ve had it for ten years or ten minutes, we can’t turn the clock forward. It’s a good thing that it’s the least important of the three because, without an old domain, you’re still in the running. It does, however, mean that your website’s ranking will improve just by getting older, much like a fine wine.
Fortunately for all of us, placing your website in a climate-controlled cellar for decades isn’t one of our typical methods of ranking.
The second is easier to manage, and much more important, but we often see it poorly executed: your website content.
Google has bots that crawl the internet, looking at each website, making a note that it exists, and putting it in the running for a higher spot on the search results. The way these bots look at your website is through plain HTML content.
Any content is better than no content, but to achieve best results, it needs to be optimized. You’ll want to have your on-page content optimized for keywords and conversion, as well as starting a blog to establish topical relevance.
On-page content is highly authoritative, long-form, including the proper keyword density and length.
Blog content is still highly authoritative and can appear as long-form content or short-form content. It requires the proper keyword density, length, post frequency, and relevant, trending topics from your industry.
Both types of content require metadata. Meta titles and meta description is the text that appears in search results to advertise a website’s page. These should be optimized with the proper keywords and proper character count.
The third factor is the most important. Google and other search engines look at how many other websites are linking to your website, how much traffic those other websites get, and how authoritative those sites are. A link from a high-traffic, authoritative website is much more powerful than a link from your buddy’s blog about snow removal on the Gulf Coast.
These three factors are just the tip of the iceberg.
Each campaign we run for a client is individual to their website and success is determined by the client’s goals. We collaborate with each client to create a focused SEO strategy and timeline from the initial data we collect on their competitors and target market. As time goes on and the market shifts, we adjust accordingly to achieve the optimal growth.
We aim for transparency and honesty with each client. Each month, we create a report on the current rankings, goal progress, and other relevant data about your campaign. We’ll walk through the report with you and discuss the coming month’s plan, as well as any necessary adjustments to the current strategy.
